How to Install LED Lights on Bike Wheels
Compatibility Check:
- Ensure your wheel rims are compatible. Avoid curved rims and check the width [00:43].
Preparation:
- Clean the rim with soap and water, then use an alcohol prep pad [01:33].
- Plug in the lights to test them [02:09].
Installation:
- Line up the lights near the valve stem [02:20].
- Cut the light strip to fit, being careful to cut on the line between the 12 volts and the bead [03:13].
- Use a sharp tool to cut a 45-degree angle in the silicone protective layer [03:37].
- Press down firmly to ensure the adhesive sticks well [04:08].
- Use zip ties to secure the cable and control unit [04:48].
- Attach the battery pack to the hub using zip ties, ensuring correct cable direction [05:20].
- Plug in the battery pack [06:23].
- Optionally, add a second LED kit and zip tie the cables together [06:33].
Testing:
- Test the different light modes [07:14].
